Dr. Tammy Wittmann has been dedicated to taking care of the visual and ocular health needs of Carmel and Westfield families since 2003. Finally, in August 2010, the time was right to open “Wittmann 20/20 Family Eye Center”. Proudly, she is a 1998 graduate of the Indiana University School of Optometry. Upon graduation, she and her husband John moved to Western Michigan where she practiced for 5 years. In 2003, they returned to central Indiana where she joined a private practice in Carmel. Since that time, Dr. Wittmann has established a large and extremely loyal patient base in the area.
Dr. Wittmann has extensive experience in fitting multifocal contact lenses. Being a multifocal contact lens wearer herself, she knows the little nuances of the lenses and works diligently with patients to provide the perfect fit. Primary eye care, diabetic eye exams, and contact lens fittings are her main focus; however, Dr. Wittmann loves working with children, especially those with focusing disorders.
Dr. Wittmann, a native Floridian, currently resides in Carmel, Indiana with her husband John and their niece Alexandrea, who attended Carmel High School and was active in the Color Guard. Dr. Wittmann and her husband John are strong supporters of the arts; arts of all types and levels. She was herself a member of color guard, having marched in her high school, as well as Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps and The Pride of Cincinnati World Class Winter Guard. She was also a member of the National Championship Twirling Team, the Linda Thomas All Stars, for 10 years. Dr. Wittmann has always recognized the importance of the arts, and arts education in the schools. Although she did not end up studying music or dance or any other art form, her involvement in those activities helped form the person she is and makes her a better Optometrist. It is because of this, “Wittmann 20/20 Family Eye Center” is dedicated to supporting local artists and arts in the schools. She is active in her church and enjoys travel, personal fitness, and spending time with her three animals.
